چکیده
PurposePatient-specific dosimetry in MRT relies on quantitative imaging, pharmacokinetic assessment and absorbed dose calculation. The DosiTest project was initiated to evaluate the uncertainties associated with each step of clinical workflow through a virtual multicentric trial. This work presents generation simulated SPECT datasets based GATE Monte Carlo modelling its corresponding experimental CT image, which can subsequently be processed by commercial image workstations.MethodsThis study considers therapy cycle 6.85 GBq 177Lu-labelled DOTATATE derived from an IAEA-Coordinated Research Project (E23005) “Dosimetry Radiopharmaceutical for personalised patient treatment”. Patient images were acquired GE Infinia-Hawkeye 4 gamma camera using medium energy (ME) collimator. Simulated projections generated time points validated against flattened profiles index. then incorporated into SPECT/CT DICOM envelopes processing their reconstruction within workstation.ResultsGamma index passing rate (2% ? 1 pixel criteria) between 95 98% average 0.28 0.35 among different revealed high similarity images. Image successful HERMES Xeleris workstations, major forward initiation trial images.ConclusionsRealistic 177Lu GATE. Fast GPU-based Monte Carlo code for SPECT/CT reconstructions generates improved 177Lu images
BACKGROUND Full Monte Carlo (MC)-based SPECT reconstructions have a strong potential for correcting for image degrading factors, but the reconstruction times are long. The objective of this study was to develop a highly parallel Monte Carlo code for fast, ordered subset expectation maximum (OSEM) reconstructions of SPECT/CT images. The MC code was written in the Compute Unified Device Architect...
متن کاملRabbit internal dosimetry for iodine-131 using GATE Monte Carlo simulation code: a preclinical trial
Introduction: One of the main concerns in administration of radiotracers, especially in therapeutic arm, is the amount of delivered dose to the different organs. Individual variations of anatomy, physiology and underlying pathology in the patients lead to alteration of administered activity. In the current study we preclinically applied internal dosimetry using an animal mod...
متن کاملComparison of TOF-PET and Bremsstrahlung SPECT images of Yttrium-90: A Monte Carlo Simulation Study
Objective(s): Yttrium-90 (90Y) is a beta particle nuclide used in targeted radionuclide therapy which is available to both single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and time-of-flight (TOF) positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. The purpose of this study was to assess the image quality of PET and Bremsstrahlung SPECT by simulating PET and SPECT images of 90Y using Monte Carlo simu...
متن کاملa comparison between gate and mcnpx monte carlo codes in simulation of medical linear accelerator
radiotherapy dose calculations can be evaluated by monte carlo (mc) simulations with acceptable accuracy for dose prediction in complicated treatment plans. in this work, standard, livermore and penelope electromagnetic (em) physics packages of geant4 application for tomographic emission (gate) 6.1 were compared versus monte carlo n-particle extended (mcnpx) 2.6 in simulation of 6 mv photon lin...
متن کاملCalculation of Available Transmission Capability Based on Monte Carlo Simulation
With the further development of power markets, large amount of electric power wheeling and frequent transmission transaction is emerging, accurately determining Available Transmission Capability (ATC) and broadcasting the ATC information in time are very important to prevent and relieve transmission congestion effectively. In practical power markets, there are large amount of uncertainties invo...
